Paul completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in 2000 and then graduated, with honors, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2003. During law school, Paul was a member of the MSU Moot Court & Trial Advocacy Board and he successfully competed in national mock trial competitions.

After obtaining his law degree, Paul earned the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy Certificate. Paul is AV or Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell and he has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer Rising Star and Michigan Super Lawyer in medical malpractice defense for many years. In 2021, Michigan Lawyers Weekly highlighted Paul as one of Michigan’s “Go To Lawyers” in medical malpractice law. Paul has also been recognized as a DBusiness Top Lawyer and listed in the Leading Lawyers publication. Paul is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Litigation and Negligence Sections), the IADC, and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Michigan (2003), the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (2004), and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan (2004).

Paul has successfully tried medical malpractice cases to juries throughout Michigan. He has also successfully arbitrated cases and represented physicians in licensing actions, including through trial. Paul also has unique experience defending medical malpractice cases in Daubert hearings. He has presented on issues in medical malpractice litigation many times throughout his career. Prior to becoming a member of Nauts McKinney Dwaihy & Beach PLLC, Paul was a shareholder and co-leader of the medical liability practice group in one of Michigan’s oldest and largest law firms.

Mr. Dwaihy concentrates his practice on defending medical malpractice litigation and represents physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care providers throughout Michigan. He also has extensive experience representing health care providers in state licensing actions.
